Here are some helpful frequently asked questions

What information do i need to switch gas supplier?

Get your bills out! All the information that we need is in your electricity, gas and merchant payment bills. Send them to us confidentially and one of our experts will analyse them and work their switching skills to get you on the path to cheaper bills.

How long does switching take?

Switching your supplier normally takes 30 days from renewal date.

What if I’m in a fixed contract?

If you are within 6 months of renewal, we can do the work for you now. If your renewal date is later than that - talk to us anyway and we will capture your renewal dates and contact you when the time is right.

Will my business gas be interrupted?

No. Your supply will be coming from the same place, through the same pipes. The only thing that changes for you is who sends you a bill.

How much does it cost to switch gas supplier?

You pay nothing. We receive commission from your new gas supplier directly as we have introduced them to a new customer.

I have recently moved into these premises, can I still switch?

Yes. This is classed as a change of tenancy so you are not tied into the previous tenants contract.

Is signing the contract electronically legally binding?

Yes. The signing service that we use is secure and legally binding.

Can the price I pay for gas increase during my contract?

Contracts will be fixed or variable. If they are fixed then they will stay the same until the end of your contract. Variable contracts can fluctuate based on wholesale market prices. We would usually recommend a fixed contract due to the uncertainty of the variable contract.

What does MPR mean?

MPR is the unique Meter Point Reference for your gas meter.

Why do I pay a Standing Charge on my gas bill?

The standing charges are either daily or monthly and are a general administration and distribution charge. Many suppliers now have deals that do not have a standing charge.

What is a kWh?

A kilowatt hour is the measure of how much gas you use over a period of time. For instance a 1kW gas fire running for 1 hour is consuming 1kWh.
